Algorithmic Governance: Guardrails Without Gridlock

AI GovernanceRisk

← All posts

AI governance usually means one of two things: a committee that slows everything down, or a policy doc nobody reads. Neither prevents the failure modes that matter — silent model drift, ungoverned prompts, and decisions made without an audit trail. A working governance layer is closer to a pipeline check than a policy: validate model inputs and outputs against defined thresholds at runtime, log every decision the system makes, and route anything outside the guardrails to a human reviewer automatically. Done this way, governance becomes a feature of the system rather than a tax on shipping it.
